Perhaps the greatest mistake of the church is the thought that we are a community that has a mission. The church is God’s mission that creates and requires community if that mission is to be fulfilled.

The very notion of a spectrum implies that possibility resides in the space between extremes. But the possibility between two extremes is like a corridor between Earth and Pluto. To my eyes, it may be an unimaginably large space. But infinitely more space exists beyond and around that corridor than inside of it.

Analytic reasoning can only ever say what the world is. Meaning comes from the intentional placing of what is into the narrative structure that our brain is capable of perceiving. Is changes nothing. Meaning transforms lives. God lives at the intersection of what is and what “is” means.
